Vincennes Limestone Quarry Faces Violation Questions

A Vincennes limestone quarry in southern Indiana is being cited by federal regulators. The Buffington Plant, owned and operated by Carmeuse Lime and Stone Incorporated,  was issued 29 violations by the Labor Department’s Mine Safety and Health Administration.
The citations are related to a massive sweep of impact inspections conducted by the department back in April. The MSHA says most of the violations at Buffington are “non-significant but substantial.” The federal government conducts impact inspections at mines that need increased agency attention and enforcement due to poor compliance history.
